The sensor provides real-time glucose readings to your smartphone. Data is updated every minute and can store up to 8 hours' worth of glucose readings in 15-minute intervals. The sensor is water-resistant and allows for continuous wear for 14 days, even during activities such as swimming, showering, and exercising.

The FreeStyle Libre 2 Flash Glucose Monitoring System is indicated for measuring interstitial fluid glucose levels in people (age 4 and older) with diabetes mellitus, including pregnant women. The FreeStyle LibreLink app and the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor are designed to replace blood glucose testing in the self-management of diabetes, including dosing of insulin.
The indication for children (age 4 - 12) is limited to those who are supervised by a caregiver who is at least 18 years of age. The caregiver is responsible for managing or assisting the child to manage the App and Sensor and also for interpreting or assisting the child to interpret Sensor glucose readings.
